I did go to the Windows Update website and the only
update it says I need is the SP2 and I dont want it. Do
you know how I can find out what update I clicked to
install cause the sp2 might be another update and might
not be why my windows update is stuck on 0%. Thanks Patty

Hi, again. if your problem sounds something like this...

(...Three days ago the MS update icon appeared at the
bottom right of the Windows (XP Pro) taskbar. I'm used
to this happening as I have my browser set to
automatically accept MS updates. However, it has stayed
there for the past three days and always indicates
"Downloading updates: 0%". Is there a way to get rid of
the icon?)...

then try out this solution.

i dont know if it'll work, but let me know. thanks.

No Im not getting any error codes. Do you know how i can
check on my pc to find out what windows download i
clicked to install because that is the program that wont
download and stuck on 0%. I still havent found a
solution. I did go the windows update and the only update
that I need is the sp2 but, I dont think is the update i
accepted to install a few days ago. Thanks Patty

Hmm...sorry, but i'm at a loss. i dont use aol(other than
AIM), so i doubt my problem was caused by AOL installing
updates or whatever. another thing is that i already have
sp2...my system is pretty much up to date. so i'll keep
researching. PS, did you delete out the folders mentioned
in the link??

I just wanted to let you know I did solve my problem.
Maybe it will help you "Julian" (I hope). I clicked to
install the sp2 update I had and then cancelled it and
that took the windows download icon off my taskbar. What
happens is that I get the updates on aol and always have
but, something with the new aol 9.0 (I think) I have will
install the updates from windows but, wont download them.
I have to go to the windows website to actually download
them. Hope this helps.

Patty
